2022 Events
Saturday, April 9th, 2022, 10:30 am – Rolling the Roads in “Upper Lafayette” lead by Tom Stith
Well, it’s time to get this riding season started. First up, is a tour around the western fringes of our club membership area, “Upper Lafayette”. Although the final details are still in the process of getting ironed out, we are looking at rolling up Old Sawmill Highway (La 354), recently paved La 345 and La 103, and of course, this ride would not be complete without a romp down La 743 past the Walmart Distribution Center.
Lunchtime grub will be had at the popular Little Big Cup in Arnaudville. Lafayette members will meet at the Lafayette Visitors Center, 1400 NW Evangeline Thruway, Lafayette at 10:30 am (just down Evangeline Thruway from I49 and I10). Baton Rouge and New Orleans members, I’ll leave it up to you guys to determine what meeting times and locations work out best for you.
So pull those car covers off and charge up those batteries and let’s get these wonderful little sports cars zooming down the road again.
Saturday, May 14th – Natchez Mississippi
Details to follow. This can be a two-day trip for those that want to stay overnight. Lead by Matt Bartol
Saturday, August 13th, 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm – Hot Summers Night Denham Springs to Middendorf’s Restaurant in Manchac – Lead by Scott Cannon
We will be meeting at 4:00 pm again this year in the southwest corner of the Bass Pro Shop in Denham Springs, just off Bass Pro blvd as in years past. We will travel from there to Hwy 1032 to Hwy 16 thru Port Vincent and French Settlement.
From there we will pick up Hwy 22 to Springfield and on to Ponchatoula where we will pick up Hwy 55 into Manchac. We will arrive at the restaurant at about 5:30 pm.
Middendorf’s will be able to seat 10 of us per table. Sign up for the event on the club website so we can get a headcount for how many will be coming.
Saturday, September 10th 9:00am – 3:00pm – Mississippi Ride – Lead by Charlie Marquette
We will leave Paul’s Pastry at 9:00 (exit 6 off I-59 North). They don’t open until 9 so we may be a little late leaving in case someone needs to use the restroom. However I would advise stopping to gas up just before getting there, maybe at exit 4 (best prices and selection).
I changed the destination lunch to avoid heavy Saturday traffic on Highway 49. I am planning on going to Bacchus on The Beach in Pass Christian. It’s about a 2 1/2 hour ride and we’ll stop somewhere in the middle for a potty break and or gas. It would be good to get a rough number to give to the restaurant and then I’ll call them on the road with a time and firm number.Below is a link to the Gulf Coast Events calendar for those who might decide to spend the weekend. The big events for that weekend are the Seafood Festival, Lynyrd Skynyrd concert, and the Biloxi Shuckers game. I would advise getting reservations for hotel and tickets for the concert or game ahead. Hope to see you there.
Saturday, November 12th – Club Anniversary Party – Audubon State Historic Site – 11788 Highway 965, St. Francisville, LA
I am on my 4th Miata and just moved to Madisonville, LA. Now that I am retired, I would like to meet you guys and join in on the runs. Please keep me posted. Thanks!
