ParticipantI know, you can’t drive very fast on it, but there’s wonderful scenery and lot’s of history that we’ve forgotten about or never knew. I was just wondering if anyone would be interesting in a multi day trip starting in Natchez and all the way up to Nashville stopping at various sites along the way. After that who knows. This would probably be best suited for those of us who are retired or have lots of vacation time to burn.

ParticipantCharlie, I love the Trace. Forces me to really enjoy the benefit of driving my Miata at a leisurely pace on a very long country road without any trucks. When do you propose to go?

ParticipantNot sure, maybe when it’s cooler. Could be an overnighter.

ParticipantI just remembered we have a ride to Natchez in October. Why not make it an extension of that for anyone interested?

ParticipantThe Natchez Hot Air Balloon Festival is that weekend. Hotel rates “fly high”. Triple normal rates for some.

ParticipantOkay, a couple of thoughts.
Peak fall foliage for Mississippi is currently forecasted for 3rd week of November. Maybe do a weekend ride up to Tishomingo.
For an extended trip, especially for anyone interested in going to Barber Motorsports for Indy Circuit, which next year is currently scheduled the first weekend in April. A full Trace ride to Nashville the last weekend in March, then to Barber, about 3 hrs from Nashville area, for the weekend there.
